Anana Ecological Resort, Krabi

I’ve been traveling to Thailand since 2018, and 5+ years later I finally made my way to an island!

I chose to visit Krabi as I was told it’s a lot more relaxed than Phuket. I was hesitant to stay far off the beach, but I have no regrets choosing to stay at Anana Ecological Resort. It was easy 10 minutes to the beach plus they offer a free shuttle that takes you to and from almost every hour.

If you want to avoid the crowdedness that comes with being by the beach and at larger resorts, Anana may be a good option for you.

As beautiful and comfortable as the resort was, I was disappointed about my experience with the Facilities and Amenities (more below) but could have just been unfortunate timing.

The Rooms

During my 4 night stay, I got the chance to experience two types of rooms. The standard Thai Studio (above) and the Villa Room (below) with the Pool access. I enjoyed staying in both as each room had:

  • Cozy lighting and decor

  • Large working desk space

  • An area with cushion to relax

  • Room necessities: Fridge, Robe, Slippers

The Thai Studio had a beautiful view facing out into the greenery, whereas the Villa with Pool access leads you into the private pool area you see in the main promo pictures.

Honestly, both were a pleasant experience but the Villa ended up being the favored one due to the larger relaxing areas, pool access, and the double clothing rack space.

Spa & Facilities

The stay would have been perfect, but my experience with the Gym and Spa services were just ok.

I can’t be too picky about the gym, as no one’s really going to these places to workout but sadly some of the equipment was broken and equipment wasn’t well maintained.

Steam Room and Sauna were under maintenance which was a bummer, and massages were available until 7pm which gave me limited options as my tours typically ended around 4pm and most of the evening slots were already booked.

If you know your schedule ahead of time, I recommend booking right when you arrive to secure your spots. Or there is a Let’s Relax Spa towards the beach which is where I ended up going.

Other than that, no complaints. Breakfast was good spread, there was a chef cooking eggs of your choice. It was easy to book tours through the hotel, and the prices were comparable to the ones offered on website like Klook. The benefit of booking an early tour and through the hotel is the hotel pick up, plus if you request it the staff will prepare a breakfast box for you.

The Rooftop bar and restaurant had a great view with happy hour options during sunset. The aesthetic of the hotel, the staff, pool + overall vibe of the place were a pleasant experience. The owners are around as well, and are very welcoming, attentive people.
